Priti NYC Mermaid Rose

3 Aug

As if I already didn’t get enough mail, I signed up for a few subscription boxes a few months ago! I wasn’t expecting or even wanting to get any polish since I prefer to just buy what I like, but my May Seasons Box included a yellow shade from Priti NYC polish.

Mermaid Rose has a creamy yellow base with pink shimmer. The pink color was more noticeable in person than it shows up in pictures. I applied three coats for full coverage, the polish was a bit thick but it applied without issues.
I don’t usually wear yellow polish, I have maybe two of them and one I only use for nail art, so I wasn’t sure about this one at first, but the shimmer is so pretty and makes it much more wearable to me. I’m glad I got it in my box!

I don’t have any previous experience with Priti NYC, but here is their website http://www.pritinyc.com. Their polishes retail for $13.50, they have a nice variety of colors as well as treatments.

Nails Inc. Sugar House Lane

27 Jul

Hello! I was planning on getting some swatching done today since it’s nice and bright out, but I broke my middle nail yesterday opening my car door. It’s not terrible but I’ll let it grow a bit before taking swatch pictures. Instead, I’ll spend some time cleaning up a bit since my parents are coming over tomorrow and I don’t think they’ll like eating on top of polish bottles, all my nail stuff just accumulates on my dining room! I’ll also be watching the Harry Potter marathon for the rest of the day! :P

Nails Inc. Sugar House Lane

This is two coats of Nails Inc. Sugar House Lane. The base is a milky soft light brown shade, and it’s packed with small black and white hex glitter. The glitter came out easily and the polish had no application issues.

This polish is making me crave a chocolate cupcake, or maybe some chocolate milk!
Thanks for looking and enjoy the rest of your day! :)

Ninja Polish Divinity

26 Jul

Hi guys! Are you all glad the weekend is finally here? I know I am, it’s been a long and slow week.
I have a beautiful color shifting polish for today! I’m sure you’ve already seen tons of pictures of this, but there can’t ever be enough pictures of pretty polish, right? :D

Ninja Polish Divinity

Divinity by Ninja Polish is a gorgeous color shifting shimmery shade. It changes from a dark red to purple to green depending on the angle and light. This was two coats, I see the tips look a bit sheer in some pictures but I think it had pretty good coverage. Application was quick and easy. Several pictures below because I couldn’t stop moving my hand!

Color Club Blue Heaven with DRK-A Stamping

20 Jul

Hi guys! I’ve been a bit busy this past week, and not able to blog. Other than that, I’m just trying to stay cool in this heat wave!

Here is some stamping I did a while ago, haven’t done my nails much lately so I’m going through my unposted folder.

Color Club Blue Heaven stamped with Konad blue and plate DRK-A

Since summer is the perfect time to wear holos, I started with Color Club Blue Heaven. The stamping was done with Konad blue polish, and a stamp from plate DRK-A.

Pretty easy and simple, but I like the result! :)

Adventures In Stamping: Shadow Stamping

14 Jul

I hope this post comes out ok since I’m posting from my iPad! Here is my attempt at shadow stamping (which I guess means stamping the same image twice).

20130714-152628.jpg

I’ve never tried this before and wanted to do something quick and easy (I’ll explain why later) so I started with China Glaze Heat Index since its a neon and dried quickly. First I used Konad black to stamp an image from plate W110, and then I used Sally Hansen Brisk Blue with the same image on top. I like the idea of it but my alignment was really off to make it work! (And I didn’t realize how much more clean up I still needed!) Originally I planned to do the second stamp in different colors for the flowers but to finish it faster I just used blue.

And here is why I wanted to finish these nails quick: Earlier this week, I went to use my flat iron and for some reason unknown to me I grabbed it by the plates instead of the handle which I’d normally do. Of course, I forgot I’d already turned it on so I burned the fingertips on my left (swatching) hand. After much pain and screaming, I went to work and spent the next couple of days doing everything one handed. The burns have healed pretty good, but my fingers still burn and itch painfully when I start touching or using my hand too much. I haven’t done my nails in almost a week, and the chips were driving me crazy so I thought I’d give this challenge a try but it was hard to do, and as I’m typing this, my hand is really bothering me so I’ll just leave it alone for a few more days.

Thanks for looking and reading this, hope you enjoy the rest of your day!
