a England Order Of The Garter

17 May

Hello everyone! There has been a lot of stuff going on this week, I wasn’t feeling well and the weather has been crap so I haven’t been able to take many pictures. Anyway, on Sunday I showed you some stamping, but the base color I used is so pretty that it deserves its own post! Here are some pictures of A England Order Of The Garter before I stamped over it.

a England Order Of The Garter

Order Of The Garter is part of A England’s The Legend collection, I almost didn’t get this one because I only wanted the holos, but this is just as beautiful as the other polishes in the collection. It’s a bright blue glass-fleck, I love the color and the finish! The formula was good like the other A England polishes I’ve tried, but it went a bit sheer on the first coat. Sorry, I can’t remember for sure if I did two or three coats, I think it was probably three but Sunday seems sooo long ago that I’m not sure! It seemed like it wanted to stain my nails a bit so be careful with removal.

Isn’t it gorgeous? I really love this shade of blue, and so far I’ve always been impressed with A England’s shades and formulas. Thanks for looking! :)

I purchased Order Of The Garter from http://shop.llarowe.com/ for $12, it is also sold at A England’s website.

a England Order Of The Garter stamped with Devotion

13 May

Hello! I hope all the moms are having a Good Mother’s Day! I visited my mom earlier and I’m trying to clean up the house a bit now before Sunday is over and I have to go to work! I have a quick post today with some stamping that I did for the Adventures in Stamping group, the challenge was to use a plate ending in 5.

a England Order Of The Garter stamped with China Glaze Devotion

I started with a-England Order Of The Garter, a gorgeous bright blue glass fleck. Then I used China Glaze Devotion to stamp the flower pattern from plate BM-205. I missed some spots, my stamper was not picking up the image very well, I’ll have to check next time to see if I can figure out why.

Zoya Wednesday and OPI Fly Holographic Gradient

10 May

I’m so in love with how these nails turned out that I can’t bring myself to change my polish!! I wanted to try another gradient, and to add something extra I made it holographic.

Zoya Wednesday and OPI Fly gradient with Hits Hefesto

I started by doing a sponged gradient with Zoya Wednesday and OPI Fly, I’m still trying to get my gradients more smooth but this one turned out pretty good. Then I added one coat of Hits Hefesto, a holographic topcoat. Everyone who likes holos should get Hefesto now if they don’t have it already! I love it, I want to put it over every polish now, and I think I’ll be getting backup bottle!

I couldn’t narrow down my pictures so I have several to show how pretty this looks!

And in the shade:

This is one of those times when I can’t stop staring at my nails. I hope you can see the gradient well in the pictures because it seems like it was more obvious in person. In the shade Hefesto looked like a pretty silvery sparkly topcoat, in the sunlight it was a beautiful holo. Wednesday and Fly are pretty colors on their own, and looked great together in the gradient. I love everything about this look, I’ve had it for five days, I just noticed a chip on my right pinky so I’ll be changing it soon but I wish I didn’t have to!

I got Wednesday at http://Zoya.com, Fly should be available wherever OPI is sold, I got mine at http://aveyou.com and I got Hits Hefesto at http://shop.llarowe.com/.

Blue Gradient with Joy Butterflies

8 May

I wanted to try a gradient again but also wanted to use a stamp in my DRK-A plate so I ended up doing both!

Blue Hydrangea and A World of Compassion gradient with DRK-A butterflies

I started by sponging a gradient with Nubar Blue Hydrangea and Sparitual A World Of Compassion. Then I used China Glaze Joy to stamp the butterflies image from the DRK-A plate which I just recently got. I’m not sure if I like it or not, from some angles it looks ok but from others it bothers me a bit, the gradient didn’t turn our exactly how I wanted. Also, I stamped the butterflies upside down so I rotated the above picture to make them look upright.

I think I will try this again maybe with different colors, maybe Joy wasn’t the best color to stamp with.

Stamped kitties!

6 May

Hello! I came up with this stamped design for today’s challenge in the Adventures in Stamping group. The challenge was Unnatural Animals so I used my new DRK-A plate to stamp some multicolored kitties.

Stamped kitties

I started with a base of Sinful Colors Black on Black, and used China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy, Zoya Lolly and Milani Dude Blue to stamp the kitties. I thought the neons would show up a bit better but they are not as bright as I hoped.

Still, I think it looks pretty cute with the kitties. I definitely have to use this stamp again! :)
