Essie Come Here!, First Timer and In The Cab-ana Dots!

18 May

I got three polishes from the Essie Resort 2013 Collection, and since there are already plenty of swatches available I decided to wear all three of them in a polka dot look instead of just swatching them!

I used Come Here! on all nails, and then alternated the dots on each nail with In The Cab-ana and First Timer. Come Here! had a good formula and pigmentation, it looked good at one coat but I did two just out of habit.

I think my dots are definitely looking better than the first few times I tried making them, and several people asked to see my nails and said they were cute, which is always nice!
The only color I didn’t buy from the Resort collection is Under Where?, because I think I already have similar purple shades, but overall they are all fun springy colors.

Thanks for visiting! :)

31 DC – Your Favorite Polish

7 Apr

I thought choosing a favorite polish from three almost full Helmers would be hard, but when I looked through them I knew which ones to use. I ended up with two because they are both favorites, and one of them can’t be worn on its own anyway!

Lynnderella Bride of Franken over Essie Smooth Sailing

This is Lynnderella Bride of Franken over Essie Smooth Sailing. I love both of these polishes so much that I have backups of them! Smooth Sailing applies so well and it is opaque in one coat, I did two just out of habit though, it has a beautiful blue base color with silver shimmer. Bride of Franken has a mix of holographic micro glitter, iridescent and blue/purple hexes in a sheer purple base. I loved the combination so there is a few pictures!

So beautiful!! I didn’t want to add any nail art because I just like this layering the way it is.
Thanks for looking! :)

Pink Wednesday – Elevation Daisen

13 Feb

I know I haven’t done a Pink Wednesday in forever! This is the first Elevation polish I’ve tried, and I stalked the shop for a couple of months before I managed to grab this polish so I’m really excited to finally get to wear this.

Elevation Daisen over Essie Little Brown Dress

A while ago I used to wear pink and brown together all the time, I wear other colors now but that still remains one of my favorite combinations. That’s why I thought to layer Daisen over a nice rich brown, Essie Little Brown Dress. Daisen has a mix of pink circle glitter, and tiny multicolored glitter. The base is very, very lightly tinted pink. It applied very well, with a good mix of glitter. This is one coat, and all the glitter laid flat on the nail.

I really love this polish and the mix of pinks, and I think it looks great over brown(although I’m sure it would look good other colors too)! And look on my index nail, there are three glitters shaped like a Mickey Mouse head! :P

Hearts with China Glaze Concrete Catwalk, OPI Steady As She Rose and Essie A Cut Above

11 Feb

I did a quick Valentine’s Day themed look for today with some hearts and glitter!

The base color used is Zoya Dove, then just using the nail polish brush I added the heart shapes with OPI Steady As She Rose, and China Glaze Concrete Catwalk. Then I dabbed Essie A Cut Above on the smallest heart and background.

Dove and Steady As She Rose looked to close to each other, I should have used a much darker pink to get the effect I wanted. A Cut Above is such a cute and sparkly glitter, I need to use it more often!

Candeo Smores over Essie Hot Coco

7 Feb

Hi guys! The polishes I have to show you today sound very yummy together, and they are really making me want chocolate! Take a look :P

Candeo S'mores over Essie Hot Coco

This is Candeo Smores layered over Essie Hot Coco. Smores has a mix of brown hexes in two sizes, black squares, large and medium sized white hexes, and gold holographic glitter in a clear base. I applied one coat, I didn’t need to do any fishing for the glitters but they needed a little bit of help to position them where I wanted. Hot Coco was a a bit thin and sheer so I needed three coats to make it opaque enough to use as a base, but it’s so creamy looking it was worth it.

I love, love this combination!! In the bottle, this polish really reminds me of s’mores, and although I usually prefer silver holo glitter, the gold one works very well in this mix.

Smores is available at Candeo Colors for $9.
