Adventures In Stamping: Your Birthstone Color

7 Jul

I have my nails for the Adventures in Stamping challenge today. My birthday is in March so the corresponding color is aquamarine, I didn’t find the exact color I wanted but I hope this is close enough!

I used Milani Front Beach and stamped it with Sally Hansen Silver Sweep and Cheeky plate CH10. The stamp didn’t transfer very well, I’m still having issues with the squishy stamper, maybe I’ll just go back to using the regular Konad one. I added some loose hex glitter or “glequins” to give it a little more sparkle, and finished with a thick coat of Seche Vite.

Fourth of July Skittles!

4 Jul

Hi guys! Here are the nails I have for the holiday today, I just did some quick skittles!

Index: China Glaze Poinsettia stamped with Konad white and Winstonia plate W107.
Middle: Essie Bouncer It’s Me with one coat of Pretty & Polished Love Always, Candy Cain
Ring: OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls stamped with Color Club Cold Metal and plate W107
Pinky: Pretty & Polished Sea Spray

I just started using a new squishy stamper and haven’t go the hang of it yet, so the stamping is a bit uneven, I’m not sure if I like how squishy and sticky it is.

Happy Fourth of July!!!

Essie Gradient with Rainbow Honey Mt. Moon

1 Jul

While swatching the Naughty Nautical collection, I thought a couple of the polishes would make a nice gradient. You’ve already seen this when I used it as a base for my French tip stamping the Sunday before last, but here are some more pictures and details on it.

Gradient with Essie Naughty Nautical, Rock the Boat and Full Steam Ahead

I used Full Steam Ahead, Rock the Boat and Naughty Nautical to create this look. First, I painted my entire nail with Rock the Boat, then I painted stripes of each color on a sponge and dabbed it on until I was happy with the gradient. The transition between Rock the Boat and Full Steam Ahead is more subtle than I wanted, also the silver shimmer got a bit lost in the process and you can’t see it much, but I still liked the colors together. To add back some sparkliness (is that even a word??), I layered one coat of Rainbow Honey Mt. Moon.

Mt. Moon has a clear base and it’s full or iridescent shimmer and glass flecks. There is also white shredded glitter, I didn’t get many of these on my nails which was fine with me because I don’t really like this kind of glitter, someone who wants more of it might have to fish a bit for them though. I think Mt. Moon actually made the gradient more noticeable. I loved how this turned out, it looked so pretty from all different angles!

Adventures in Stamping: French Manicure

23 Jun

Hi everyone! I hope you are enjoying your Sunday, the weather is beautiful here and I’m going to lunch for my brother’s birthday so this will be a quick post.
I was thinking of doing a gradient background for my french tip stamping, and realized that I was already wearing a gradient so I just stamped over my current nails.

The background is a gradient with Essie Full Steam Ahead, Rock the Boat, and Naughty Nautical, and a layer of Rainbow Honey Mt. Moon, I’ll have more pictures of this on a future post. The french tip was done with Essie Nothing Else Metals and Konad plate m56, rarely use french tip stamps so my alignment still needs more practice.
I hope you like it, and thanks for looking! :)

Adventures in Stamping: Complimentary Colors

9 Jun

Hi guys! I haven’t participated in an Adventures in Stamping challenge for a while, but I checked the challenge for this weekend and had an idea. There is no story or explanation behind this, it was just the first thing I thought of so I went with it!

Zoya PixieDust Destiny stamped with OPI Swimsiut...Nailed It! and DRK-B

I love blue and orange together so I used Zoya PixieDust Destiny (I’ve seen it described as a red coral but it looks orange to me!), and sponged the tips with OPI Swimsuit…Nailed It! The stamping was done with a butterfly image from plate DRK-B and Swimsuit…Nailed It! I was hoping the image would be more clear but due to the texture it’s a little hard to see.

And here it is with two coats of Seche Vite

While still on the fence about all the texture polishes coming out, I love the sparkly shimmery finish of the PixieDust polishes!

Thanks for looking! :)
